Background Patients with rheumatic diseases, particularly systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), present greater sexual dysfunction (SxD) than patients other chronic diseases. SxD is multifactorial and may be linked to both disease-related psychological factors, as well hormonal imbalance drug treatment. Self-image self-esteem, which have not been thoroughly studied in SLE patients, related interest thereby also affect function.
